15 WWE Stars Who Loved To Be Hated 9

9. JBL

WWE’s current co-commentator JBL was always better off on the bad side of the fence. His days with Farooq in the APA are looked back upon with fondness, but if Bradshaw was to forge out a top singles career of his own he was always going to need to change things up a bit.
He broke out on his own several times in his career, but it was around 2004 that JBL struck gold. His first main event push came after he christened himself John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield, suited up with a millionaire’s gimmick and a typical brash attitude. He eventually won the WWE Championship from Eddie Guerrero and surrounded himself with ‘The Cabinet’ – a stable full of JBL’s ‘staff.’JBL would love to tell us how far he was above the rest of the roster, proclaiming that he was a ‘Wrestling God.’ For someone who wasn’t so blessed with in ring talent and didn’t have the perfect look fitness wise, it was the perfect heel move. His actions while at the top just made you want to hate him, and he did a great job of lapping it up.
