Forecasting The Future Of 10 WWE Stars In Their 40s 7

7. Chris Jericho

Age: 43
Chris Jericho is one of those guys that doesn’t seem to age. Even though he’s been on our TV screens for the majority of the last 20 years (first in ECW, then WCW and WWE in 1999) he really doesn’t come off as an old guy. He’s in great shape, wrestles the same sort of style in every match and is still considered cool by a lot of us.
Simply put, he’s one of the best wrestlers ever and a big reason for that is the way he’s able to constantly re-invent himself as a heel, as a face and simply as an entertainer that can do it all. He stopped being a full time performer a few years ago, only to return when it fits his schedule. No top guy has ever put over so many midcarders as Jericho. That’s something we love about him. It’s not about wins or losses with him. It’s about putting on a show. That’s what he does all the time.
He seems like the kind of guy that’s going to come and go for a few months every year for another five years. He may not win another title again, but that’s okay. He’ll still find ways to entertain. If you’re not taking bumps 200 days a year then you’re body is going to stay fresher. That’s just a common sense thing.
Jericho is such a busy guy that it’s hard to know what he may do in the next five years. He’ll probably still be doing music, some wrestling, some acting and just keeping busy. He’s a workaholic. That’s why he is so successful at life. Don’t be surprised if he’s still wrestling once in a while for the next five years.
