Forecasting The Future Of 10 WWE Stars In Their 40s 8

8. Mark Henry

Age: 43
It took Mark Henry nearly 15 years to become the true superstar that WWE wanted him to be when he was signed as an Olympic weightlifter in 1996. When he developed into a main eventer in 2011 it was as if you could hear Vince McMahon celebrating about it because of all the time and money they invested in him. The “Hall of Pain” gimmick really was a lot of fun for him.
Now that he’s in his early 40s, age has really caught up to him. Even though he did that memorable promo last year where he faked a retirement against John Cena when he said he’s not done yet, it appears that he’s close to being done now. He’s had trouble staying healthy. When you’re a 400 pounder in your 40s it’s very unlikely that you’re going to be able to wrestle that much longer.
There are rumors that he may join that new stable with Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. He would be a good fit as a veteran mentor that obviously is very powerful as well. If they don’t go in that direction with him then it’s probably because he’s going to stop wrestling very soon.
Henry’s a well liked guy that represents WWE very well. He’s also proof that if you stick with it you can eventually get it.
