10 Reasons WWE Fans Are Sick Of John Cena (5)

5. His Move-Set Never Changes

Runningshoulder tackle, followed by another running shoulder tackle. He ducks a punch into a spinning side slam then hits the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Then it’s the Attitude Adjustment and the match is over.
Repeat for 10 years.
If there was one true negative element of Cena’s character that almost all of his critics agree upon, it’s this one.
This goes back to the fans’ complaint of John as the rebel character. The reason for that is because just as in that situation, his move-set was very effective at one time. And either fans knew his range was limited but didn’t care or they just didn’t see it until much later. But either way, they’re sick of it now.
This is not to say that other WWE Superstars do not run the same routine in their matches as well. The fact is a guy must do what he knows he physically can do and what makes him stand out from the rest of the pack. But in John Cena’s case, that routine has become painfully routine and for them, he’s nearly unwatchable now.
Fans are sick of seeing the same repetition week in and week out. John runs the same thing every time and he runs it despite who he’s working or even how big or small that guy is physically. John is John and he’s never changing.
And that infuriates some fans to no end.
From a realistic standpoint, there should probably be no way that Cena could ever win a match again. If WWE featured legitimate competitive contests, his opponent would likely have him so well scouted that John would not be able to run even one of his notorious “five moves of doom.”
For that matter, how do his opponents in WWE right now not have him so well scouted he’s not flat on his back at the end of every match?
But every night he runs the same match and nearly every time he wins. The fact that fans are absolutely sick of it makes no difference at all.
