10 Depressing WWE Career Free Falls 8

8. Rob Van Dam

At one point in his career, Van Dam may have been the “whole f’n show”, now he’s just a minor part of the show. Much like Chris Jericho, Van Dam gets to appear when he wants to it seems. While he’s in his early 40s now, he can still put on decent matches, and has maintained a strong following throughout his lengthy career.
Van Dam’s Peak: After years of stop and start pushes, Van Dam finally captured the WWE Title at Extreme Rules 2006. While he was quickly stripped of the title after being arrested for drug possession, he still remained a popular babyface.
Where he is Now: Before coming back to WWE after his TNA run, Van Dam was given a hero’s welcome with weeks worth of vignettes preceding his debut. He was mainly used to put over Alberto Del Rio during his run with the World Heavyweight Title in a failed pairing with Ricardo Rodriguez. His most recent run, though, has been completely forgettable. Van Dam continually loses, but his opponents are no longer getting anything from it.
Chance of a Comeback: 5%. Van Dam just isn’t as exciting in the ring as he used to be, and he doesn’t posses the promo abilities to turn things around. He won’t ever main event another pay-per-view in a singles match, but he could be in some Raw main events…in tag matches.
