7. Kofi Kingston

                                                     

Boom! Boom! Boring! If you love wrestlers who show up week after week, sometimes win, sometimes lose, but never receive any character development whatsoever and smile through it all, well then Kofi Kingston is your man!
Kofi’s Peak: Survivor Series 2009. That’s right, it’s coming up on five years since Kofi Kingston has had anything interesting to do. In the fall of 09, Kofi and Orton began a surprise feud. This resulted in Orton’s car being destroyed (coincidentally on the first night he was given one!). The next month, Kofi and Orton compiled teams of five to battle at Survivor Series. It came down to the two team captains with Kofi getting the feel good victory. A star was born!
Where he is Now: Not so fast. After Survivor Series Kofi lost to Orton at TLC the next month in a pretty bland match. The next three months he was stuck in multi-man pay-per-view matches, and then was relegated to dark match by the time Extreme Rules came around. Ever since, he’s fallen further and kind of settled as a guy who shows up, does a job then shows up the next week. It probably pays pretty well, but it’s also most likely not very creatively fulfilling.
Chance of a Comeback: 10%. Kofi is 32-years-old, which is young enough for another push, but we’ve seen him as a stale mid-carder for so long that it will be hard to get excited about him again. He’s also had a handful of fluke wins against big talent, but nothing ever comes of it. He appears to perhaps be turning heel alongside Big E and Xavier Woods. It’s too early to tell where this is headed, but knowing WWE’s history, we may be looking at another mid-card Nation of Domination stable. That’s probably not going to get him to the next level.
