Forecasting The Future Of 10 WWE Stars In Their 40s

How much longer do guys like Kane, Batista, Big Show and others have in WWE?

When a wrestler turns 40 it’s usually a time for reflection on that guy’s career and also a time to wonder how much time they have left as active wrestlers. What’s funny about that is that so many wrestlers have said they were retired only to keep coming back for more.
Ric Flair was losing retirement matches about 15 years before his WWE retirement in 2008 and he still kept on wrestling into his 60s outside of WWE. Mick Foley retired as a regular in 2000 in his mid 30s, yet he wrestled throughout the 2000s on a part time basis. The all time leader in joking about retiring is Terry Funk, who recently turned 70 years and is still a part of the wrestling business.
There are some great wrestlers that don’t get to have matches in their 40s due to injuries with Steve Austin and Edge as two of the bigger names that stopped before they probably wanted to. Austin has said numerous times on his podcast that he would have liked to go another four or five years, but he was forced to call it quits in 2003 due to neck and neck injuries. Edge was told he couldn’t take any more bumps in 2011 when he was 37. A major neck injury did him in too.
For WWE’s current crop of wrestlers in their 40s, several of them have been in the company for over 15 years and all of them are WWE Hall of Famers as long as they don’t do anything to mess it up. In fact, nine of the ten guys have been WWE or World Champions in their career too, so that just shows how talented they are. When you have the longevity plus the talent you can really make it far in the wrestling business. There are a few others in their 40s like The Great Khali and R-Truth that won’t be included because their roles are so limited these days. The Rock isn’t around enough to be included either.
This is going to be listed in the order of their age at the time of this writing from the youngest to the oldest. The age comes from Wikipedia, which is hopefully accurate, but it’s pretty much known that all of these guys are in their 40s.
What’s in the future for these ten WWE stars in their 40s? Here’s a look.
