13. John Cena
So, does John Cena actually love to be hated? Or does WWE’s biggest draw get eaten up inside by the ‘Let’s go Cena! CENA SUCKS!’ chants that greet the 15-time champion everywhere he goes?
It may have taken Cena several months to get used to the lack of love he received from live crowds across the world, but the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion looks to be dealing with it very well nowadays. Cena is the most polarizing character ever to be seen in sports entertainment because his schtick for the last decade has been the same – and it’s long been outdated. At least that’s the view of the older generation of male fans. But Cena is still a hit with the kids and the ladies. He’s a merchandise machine. And for as long as he still remains that way in WWE he’s going to be happy to take the jeers from 50% of the crowd (or more) all week long.
Cena is now fully accepting that he can’t please everyone, and at the moment it looks like he doesn’t give a damn.
