12 WWE Stars Who Got Better With Age 5

5. The Undertaker

Similar to Kane, the breadth of emotion and performance that Mark Calaway has been able to expand The Undertaker character to encompass is what has allowed him to become better with age. From the pasty-faced and slow-moving character who debuted at Survivor Series 1990 to the salty and leather-clad biker who was dropkicked by Maven out of the 2002 Royal Rumble showcases quite the breadth of dramatic range. As well, for The Undertaker to not just go through such dramatic development – but also maintain a high level of crowd engagement and quality of performance to his in-ring action – is impressive.
To be able to evolve and mature a character over 20-plus years while intricately weaving themes and their variations in said character’s development is rare. In at no point becoming inconsequential as a wrestler, but at the same time incorporating the legacy of a well-regarded history allows for moments like say, losing to Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 30 to become iconic pieces of his history, WWE history, and the history of the wrestling industry. In incredibly being more engrossing (with a character arguably more intriguing than any other character in wrestling history) in year 24 (at the age of 49) than he was in year one (at the age of 25), The Undertaker certainly got better with age.
