7. Underdogs Can Win
Daniel Bryan is the perennial underdog. Throughout his career, he has mostly been presented as a weak link and as someone who is expected to lose and is vastly underestimated by his opponents.
The most recent example of this was at WrestleMania XXX. After Triple H’s “Authority” had tried for so long to prevent Bryan from becoming the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Bryan challenged the company’s Executive Vice President to a match at the biggest pay-per-view of the year.
Triple H, of course, laughed off this challenge – stating that Bryan was “B-list” and not worthy of his attention – but, after Bryan insisted, Triple H accepted the challenge and turned up for the match almost laughing at his challenger. However, in typical Bryan fashion, he won the match and went on to win the triple threat title match – a place in which was the prize for winning the match with Triple H – despite a storyline injury, interference from the Authority and a crooked referee.
Essentially, no matter what the odds, Bryan tends to prevail, highlighting the fact that underdogs can win.
