10 Former WWE Stars Who Deserve Another Shot 10

10. Ezekiel Jackson

The WWE have a remarkable track record of employing absolutely huge wrestlers and booking them poorly; we’re even seeing a modern day example in the case of Big E. But whilst Big E was a young buck in developmental wrestling, the WWE were doing exactly the same to “Big Zeke” – Ezekiel Jackson.
Guyana’s finest wrestling export (probably their only one, in fact) was incredibly unlucky throughout his time in the WWE, and another shot would be more than justified. When Ezekiel Jackson made his move onto the main roster in WWE back in 2008, things started off pretty smoothly. He was initially brought in as a bodyguard for The Brian Kendrick (an appropriate gimmick, given how Jackson is a man mountain), but it was his move to the ECW roster where things really started to pick up.
There he won the ECW Championship, and in fact, he’s still recognised by the WWE as their last ever ECW Champion. That’s not a bad little accolade to have next to your name when you factor in the men who have won the title in the past. But it didn’t stop there; a move into the ill-fated The Corre stable ultimately led to Jackson winning the Intercontinental Championship after turning on Wade Barrett – but he lost it shortly after to Cody Rhodes. From then on, injuries and poor booking led to him going on a terrible losing streak (he lost to the likes of Jinder Mahal and David Otunga), before having a year out of the wrestling business with injury.
The WWE released him in April this year, but the way it all ended was a bit of a disappointment. And if Jackson can prove his fitness to earn another deal with the WWE, there’s more than enough to suggest he could make a real go of it. After all, the WWE gave him enough of a push to believe in him in the past.
