5. It Wasn’t Dixie’s Fault
Gene Snitsky and Ezekiel Jackson? Stop it Dixie, is this some sort of sick, disgusting, perverted joke? Well I’m not laughing. Not at all. When she wants to bring in former WWE talent, she shouldn’t go shopping in that company’s bargain bin. Sure, this may not be a long-term deal with the duo, but closing out an episode of Impact in 2014 with two forgettable WWE mid-carders beating up three former ECW guys from 1998 was a questionable thing to do.
After all, Lo Ki came back on Impact, but he hardly got any attention. While he’s infinitely more talented than Gene and Zeke, he was just thrown out there in a match. The company should have treated it like a huge acquisition. He’s a former WWE guy (and TNA guy before that) who is unique, and incredibly athletic. Even The Hardy Boyz reuniting wasn’t on the level of promotion of this ECW thing. Nobody is going to buy Dixie’s henchmen as a big deal, it makes them look like they’re behind the times.
