1. Sting Debuting In A WWE Ring
It seems a bit weird that a wrestler in his mid-50s that may only wrestle one more match would be the one thing fans are most anxiously waiting for, but in Sting’s case it’s the truth. He’s the biggest name in wrestling in the last 30 years (or longer) that has never worked for WWE before. Now it appears as though it’s going to happen. There was the video game release last week, there was the surprise appearance at the San Diego Comic Con this past Thursday and perhaps an on screen debut within the next few months.
The reports say that nothing is officially signed yet although it’s a matter of time. That’s been the story since January. Maybe they’re waiting to do it a major event like the Royal Rumble with Sting debuting in that match. What a moment that would be huh? Perhaps it will happen closer to WrestleMania 31. It could be sooner, though. With initial WWE Network subscriptions set to expire between SummerSlam they might feel compelled to bring him in around that time.
A lot of fans that are younger may not think that Sting is a big deal, but anybody that it’s in their 20s and older that watched NWA/WCW for any period of time knows how significant it is for Sting to debut in WWE.
For so many years we wondered if Sting would ever debut in WWE, but now it’s not more of when it will happen. Whenever it is, that’s going to be a moment that we won’t ever forget.
