3. Brock Lesnar
Brock Lesnar was hated before WrestleMania 3 but after WrestleMania 30, he was absolutely despised, and that tide continues. When he ended The Undertaker’s undefeated streak, it brought down a world of bile upon him that many perhaps did not see coming and for the first time since his return, Brock had true heat as a heel.
It’s surprisingly easy to boo and cheer a guy at the same time: a Superstar can be jeered because of the role he’s playing but also get a pop because of the respect he has earned in the ring. And for a guy like Brock Lesnar who is considered a big fight performer, the temptation for some fans to react at both ends of the spectrum has been hard to resist. Basically, Lesnar is a war machine and every man’s inner action star can totally appreciate that.
However when Brock beat Taker, he turned the corner. While Paul Heyman is doing his best to get fans to turn on his client, the fact is that he really doesn’t need to - in fact, such is the profile of his client that Heyman could turn face at any moment and still be very effective as Lesnar’s advocate.
His past reputation as a man that cares only about getting paid and taking the spotlight will always be there and often fuels the reaction he receives from fans. Killing the reaper at WrestleMania 30 however, has done more to get him over as a heel than any amount of greed ever could. Brock Lesnar is a heel of the highest order and definitely belongs on this list.
